Today I want to plant a kind deed seed for a little girl who likes horses. And anyone else who likes horses is welcome to todays Advent surprise.
I have a link to a Christmas horse bookmark. You can print them out for yourselves or to tag gifts or to give to someone special today.
Scripture:
Psalm 20:7
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Thoughts:
When the Jewish people looked for their Messiah, they looked for a mighty leader who would free them from their oppressors. They were hoping for horses and chariots from heaven, like the ones that protected Elijah, and took him up out of the sight of Elisha. Little did anyone expect the Messiah to appear in the manger, the feeding trough of the barn animals, as a helpless little baby. Later, surely he would ride triumphantly on a fine horse!
But even though the Messiah did not appear quite in the form expected, still, the Jewish people had hoped for salvation to come in the name of the LORD. And this is just what did happen.
It happens still.
Today place your hope in the Savior, wait with hope for the revealing of what He will do to free you from sin, the greatest oppression of all.
Activity:
Print out one or many of your Christmas bookmarks. ** ***Extra-extra! pdf Coloring page for little ones
