Looking forward to a Christian Christmas

Plant in Hope

05.12.08 | The Candlelighter | No Comments

Every farmer and gardener plants in hope of a harvest. You don’t see what you hope the planted seed will become, only in your mind’s eye. But that doesn’t matter, you know about the power of multiplication that resides within the seed.

You know that it is the nature of the seed to grow and to become a plant that produces many more seeds. It all starts with hope, because hope begets the plan and the practical steps that are accomplished in faith of the outcome.

Scripture:
Psalm 33:18
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

Today as you plant hopes and dreams of your heart in your relationship with God, know that He is taking note.

Here are some examples of how we hope at this season:
I hope they like this gift

We wrap up gifts in hope that the person we love will like the gift and be happy. We hope we get gifts we like.

hung by the chimney with care

Children hang their stockings in hope that they will be filled. Parents hope their children will be delighted with the holiday preparations, and that they may see their happy faces.

The Bethlehem Star

The Wise Men from the East followed a star in hope of finding the promised One. We hope for peace in our world, and that others will come to know the Prince of Peace.
