Jesus told two parables that pictured what the Kingdom of God was like. First, he told of the mustard seed, but then we told of the yeast dough:
Scripture:
Matthew 13:31-33
He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field
. . .
He told them still another parable:”The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
Thoughts:
Our hope in God and the actions of our faith in Him produce the Kingdom of God within our hearts… slowly and imperceptibly at first, but like the growth of a small seed into a large plant or like the action of yeast inside the dough. God plants His truth inside our hearts and though we don’t perceive it, it is working to make something wonderful in our lives.

Activity:
Today, a fun and delicious thing to do is bake a krum cake yeast bread. There are many recipes for yeast doughs- they all use yeast to “leaven” or puff up the dough to make it light and melt in your mouth after it is baked.
You can choose to make your own with this recipe. Maybe you don’t have time to make everything yourself- the yeast dough is already made for you in the frozen food section of the store- just buy some cinnamon rolls to bake!

1 cup hot milk
1/3 cup butter or shortening
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 yeast cake dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water
2 3/4 to 3 cups flour ( enough for stiff batter)
Add butter, sugar, and salt to milk. When lukewarm, add dissolved yeast, beaten egg, flour to make very stiff batter; beat well , cover, let rise till light. ( about 2 hours) Spread 1/2 thick in greased square cake pan. Cover and let rise again. When light, spread 2 tblsp melted butter over top, and sprinkle with krummels.

1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour mixed together rub in 1/4 cup butter to make a streusel topping.
Spread over top of dough. Bake 350º for 40 minutes.
