Looking forward to a Christian Christmas

What Shall I Give Him?

Giving is the word of this season

We hear it everywhere, not in its original context of Christmas, but trumpeted through the medium of marketing. We continue our love/hate relationship with materialism, all the while being bombarded daily with the commercials and ads that try to fully exploit the message of giving.

Sometimes it isn’t good to give.

It isn’t good to give ear to evil.

It isn’t good to give ourselves yet more indulgences.

It isn’t good to get caught up in the competition of outgiving others to enhance our pride.

Giving From A Pure Heart

Centering on giving God our time and affections. Giving God the things he has asked of us:

Obedience and Praise.

If you could ask for one thing that others would give you that is not of a material, physical substance, what would you want the people around you to give?

Ask each other this question, give an answer for each one present, “I would like you to give me…”

time… appreciation … a caring compliment… ???

Do you remember any of the written goals for this Advent season? What can you give to God this week that would align with one of the goals you had?
