What are some of your favorite things of Christmas celebrations? Do those things connect you closer to God or family in some way?
While I love many things about Christmas, it is really the Christmas story, especially as told in the Gospel of Luke . that holds all together with beauty and meaning. Today is the last of this weeks theme of the Candle of Prophecy. The prophets spoke many hope inspiring words, and today we can meditate on these:
Numbers 24:17a
I see him, but not now;
I behold him, but not near:
a star shall come out of Jacob,
and a scepter shall rise out of Israel;
Isaiah 7:14
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
