We have arrived at Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n

All the preparations of the Advent season end tomorrow, in the Christmas celebration. The feasting time of celebration of the birth of Christ will have arrived.<\/p>\n

This time has helped reveal to us the things we honor and celebrate, the way we relate and insights into our interpretation of life’s priorities.<\/p>\n

At our house I noticed that certain parts of our preparations have been rushed. Devotional time, meditation takes time… a space that is carved from the everyday distractions. Some of those times resulted in rich reward, reaching into our souls. Other of these times we have hurried over it, and rushed to fill the time with attempts to “hit the high points”. And then there were the devotional times missed altogether, as we skipped to our pressing to-do list.<\/p>\n

Enjoying A Feast<\/h3>\n

There are many things in life that we believe we will naturally know what to do. It is surprising how many times we are wrong.<\/p>\n

We think of a feast as mainly an event for our belly, but the main requirement for it is that it be empty and ready to be well filled.<\/p>\n

The rest of the enjoyment comes from our senses: the aromas to be savored, the tastes to be ingested, the delight of the eye and expectation of our minds as we anticipate all these experiences.<\/p>\n

Then there is the enjoyment of good company, the atmosphere of good conversation.<\/p>\n

I hope you feast on love, hope and faith this holiday.<\/p>\n
