Great promises were fulfilled in the day that Jesus came to earth. Advent is a way of bringing those to mind.\u00c2\u00a0 These times of devotion and meditation help us to appreciate the promises made.<\/div><\/div>\n

There is more to the promise that God made in Christ than a baby that was born 2000 years ago. Some parts of the promise are still pending.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 9:6-7<\/h4>\n

6 For unto us a Child is born,
\nUnto us a Son is given;
\nAnd the government will be upon His shoulder.
\nAnd His name will be called
\nWonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
\nEverlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
\n7 Of the increase of His government and peace
\nThere will be no end,
\nUpon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
\nTo order it and establish it with judgment and justice
\nFrom that time forward, even forever.
\nThe zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What do we have to still look forward to?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Just as the Jewish people did so long ago, today we could envision a quick and condensed version of the what the Messiah will do.<\/p>\n

Who would have thought that God would plan to reform mankind from the inside out?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We all have bigger, better plans of how we would construct governments and the utopian society. But God looks at the state of the heart. He shows us that no matter how perfect our society, if our hearts are dark and broken, we cannot experience it.<\/p>\n

And so, the slow process of peace, and justice all start from within, in a very personal way.<\/p>\n

Is your light turned on within your soul? Have you allowed the process to start inside your own heart?<\/p>\n

Today is a good day to give your heart over to Jesus for either the first time, or once again.\u00a0 Let Him reveal Himself, “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” to you and establish the better world from the inside out.<\/p>\n
