Additionally, taking the first Jesse tree symbol, the sprouted tree stump, and its scripture verse for the day.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Preparations<\/h2>\n<p>Set up the Jesse tree, the Advent wreath, or your log. Place the candles, and during devotional time, light the first candle. Begin the Christmas season by allowing meditation and reflection time in the schedule of days ahead. Take each day at a time.<br \/>\nThis year, I discovered the Celtic Advent Calendar idea which has simple suggestions for experiencing joy, and would like to use that inspiration to encourage this. experience through small acts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-box su-box-style-default\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#58768a;border-radius:3px;max-width:none\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#8ba9bd;color:#000000;border-top-left-radius:1px;border-top-right-radius:1px\">Encourage Hope<\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:1px;border-bottom-right-radius:1px\">Share an encouraging word of hope with one or more people today.<\/div><\/div>\n<h3>Christmas Carols<\/h3>\n<p>While singing carols is a very old tradition, most Christmas carols derive from the nineteenth century. Even those which sound like older forms of music like chants and plainsong, are actually more modern.<\/p>\n<p>For today, the song &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lovingchristmas.com\/blog\/2014\/01\/12\/2314\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">O Come, O come Emmanuel<\/a>&#8221; ushers in our celebration.
