Todays scripture is Hebrews 13: 1-2, the ornament for the day is an angel. Angels figure prominently in the advent of Jesus. From the annunciation to the appearance to the shepherds in the fields near Bethlehem, we know that angels were rejoicing and eager to serve God’s purpose in this pivotal event in creation.
Some of our most beloved carols recount the angels participation in the Christmas story. “Angels We Have Heard on High” is a favorite in our family. Have you ever wondered what real angels look like? I wonder how we get the pictures of women with flowing hair and little chubby babies when the scriptures usually describe something more like a grown man… sometimes it isn’t until the encounter is over that people realize they were interacting with angelic beings.
In my collection of angel graphics, few match the Biblical form, but I think they all have wings;)
Jesse Tree ornament printables. These would be very pretty done as decoupage .
An alternate scripture proclaiming Jesus as King, Psalm 2:7-8; Ephesians 2:14-20 with the ornament is the symbol of a scepter .
