Precious Truth: …He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
So often we view things simplistically in a narrow way, instead of simply with child-like eyes.
Today’s Reading from The Word
Malachi 4:2
But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.
Thoughts on this scripture:
Do we revere the name of God? the name of Jesus Christ? In Him is healing.
Most people desire healing for their physical and emotional ills. We desire whole lives and wellbeing, but is the connection made between the healing of the creation and the reverence and honor given the Creator?
It would seem the connection would be obvious; but it is not obvious.
As we remember Christ Jesus coming to earth as a new born infant, born into His world, but without honor or notice, let us consider. He made the worlds, the sun, the moon, the stars. He made all creation, and He made us.
The star that led wise men to Him, angels that sang glorious praise and led shepherds to Him all was made by a loving Creator God. We might meditate today on the warmth of His love shining from heaven on a dark, dark earth and on inhabitants blinded in their darkness; and we might think of that love and its healing power in our lives.
How small a thing God asks of us: believe on the name of Jesus. That is all it takes to unlock the sunshine of God and His goodness in our lives.
I hope the sun shines for you, today.
