Genesis 15:5
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to tell them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
Vision of the human spirit reaches far beyond what eyes can see. People with physically perfect, 20/20, vision may not be able to see spiritual realities, but Abraham did.
When we are blessed with healthy eyes we can be thankful for the world that opens to us through that form of our senses.

Abraham and a Promise
God made a promise to Abraham that stretched not only beyond what he could see with his eyes, but what could be imagined in his mind.
When we are given that kind of vision it propels us into a great destiny.
Prayer
Father God, We thank you for the faith of Abraham that grasped the vision you showed to him. We would like to see your goals for us that will stretch our hearts and minds to have faith in you and to hope great things for ourselves. We want to be a friend of yours, as Abraham was, so that we might glory in your greatness.

A star in the sky, or a bird on the wing,
Or all of God’s angels in heav’n for to sing,
He surely could have it, ’cause he was the King.
Stars represent all that is far beyond our reach, but which we may see and magnify our Creator for, thanking Him for helping us hope beyond our present circumstances.
I think that the special star in the sky at the advent of Christ was a continuation of what God chose to represent hope and vision to the nations. It was a shining light that was unique and set apart from all others in the sky. A star that came at the chosen time for a certain purpose.
