From our first year of advent posts, in 2006, comes the Bible verse for today’s meditation. A favorite for Christmas:
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Create a Memory Today with this Suggestion.
When Jesus was sent to us that first Christmas, God was making a lasting connection with us, one that would never be broken by our mistakes, shortsightedness, or weaknesses. Jesus was given to us, and we would never need to be alone and separated from God ever again.
We have hope and light in the person of our Savior. As more of the candles are lit this advent season, we see the power of that light grow amongst us.
Today’s Activity
[su_box title=”The Thread of Time” style=”default” box_color=”#8ba9bd” title_color=”#000000″ radius=”3″ class=””]Look out the window for 5 minutes, reflecting on what you see. What similarities does your view have with those who lived 200, or 2000 years before you? Make a connection that is lasting with someone today by finding what you have in common. [/su_box]
